five things to think about...

The following questions have been devised to give you something to think about, a way of starting to explore your life as it is and where you might like to be. So why not take some time for yourself, find a quiet space, grab a pen and paper, and use these questions as the first step to starting to imagine and create the life that you want and deserve?

1: How do you feel about your life?

Admittedly, that is a big question. Your unique answer will depend upon your level of self-awareness, your perspective on life in general and your current circumstances.

My next questions are, "Did you answer great?" and "What does a great life mean to you?"

To me, life can be great without a lottery win every day or a date every night of the week. That would be unrealistic, and frankly, both exhausting and meaningless. My great life includes feeling good about myself, happy in my relationship, confident as a parent, comfortable in my home, really solid in my long-term friendships, fulfilled by my coaching, creative pursuits and community work and having a lot of love and laughter in my life. These elements help to balance any negativity, stress, anxiety or adversity that I may encounter in daily life and help me bounce back.

So, what is your great life about? Does your life need a bit of work? Don't you deserve a great life? I'm going to answer that one for you: OF COURSE YOU DO.

2: Let's start with where you are right now.

I like to begin with the positive, so take a moment to list three (or more, if you can) components of your life that are fine as they are, with a few words that describe the reason they are going well. It is important to celebrate your good choices and efforts. Make a note of your answers.

3: One in need of change

Your visit to this website suggests that there may be an area of your life (such as family, job, relationship, self-esteem, health, social life, appearance, finances, community) that you believe could be better. Write down what you would like to change about it.

4: Lead the Way

Then, consider whether changing your own attitude or behaviour could make the difference to that problem area:

  • "How can I do my personal best at this?"
  • "How can I contribute more, even if it means stepping out of my comfort zone?"

Many times, by stepping up and injecting new energy into one situation, you will:

  • Get your creative juices flowing, your 'wheels' turning or your sporty endorphins going.
  • Kick-start other areas of your life.
  • Inspire others to act similarly.

5: Contact me for one-to-one life coaching

There is really no substitute for the personal service I offer my clients in one-to-one sessions. Each coaching relationship is built upon the rapport between the coach and the individual client, taking into account that client's goals, needs and circumstances. I will listen to you, give your needs my attention, help expand your self-awareness, focus you on your goals, support your efforts throughout and celebrate your success.
