I am a qualified life coach, having earned two BTEC Certificates in Life Coaching Skills and Practice at Newcastle College. I love what I do; helping my clients achieve great results in all areas of their lives, hence the name of my business: yourgreatlife. Apart from my coaching I have lived a full, diverse and rich life which gives me all I need to help you achieve your own great life.
  • I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a Juris Doctor degree (Law) and have practiced law in the United States.
  • At 28, I took a 'gap year' to travel solo to Australia, NZ, SE Asia and Europe, backpacking, crewing on a sailboat, au pairing and painting.
  • I moved to Santa Fe, NM to recapture my lifelong interest in art and began studio work in pottery, painting and photography.
  • I ran a business, Desert Light Studios, in Santa Fe, offering bespoke holiday courses in artist's studios.
  • I worked in art gallery sales and management.
  • I moved to London to study & earn a Diploma in art history with Christie's.
  • I met my British husband in London and decided to travel around the world with him for his business and raise our family.
  • I am at home here in North London, having lived in the UK for more than 14 years, but I still have plenty of America in me.
  • My personal experiences inform my coaching: Travel opens my eyes to other people, views and opportunities. I love cooking for the food, but mostly for how it brings people together in my home. Friendship, belonging and support are, in my opinion, essential elements of a great life.
  • I have developed my love of writing, art and design over many years and now help others communicate better and express themselves creatively.
  • I love the beach in every season for the sense of peace that I need for reflection, and it's also where I have the most fun. That personal space and time nurture me like nothing else and also help me visualise my long-term goal of living by the sea some day.
  • I have followed a family tradition of philanthropy and volunteerism, from the Info Desk at the V&A Museum in my student days to being a trained support volunteer in the area of miscarriage/infertility now. Giving back, and/or paying it forward, are ways of ensuring a sense of purpose and fulfillment in life.
  • I too have a life coach, to make sure that I maintain self-awareness, a balanced life and occasionally reassess my values and goals.

So, perhaps you can see, from the description above, a picture of the person I am: a person with both academic and creative leanings, both independent and drawn to other people, interested in other cultures, but still very much true to the person I have always been.

I give a lot of myself to the coaching process and I will hold you to a high standard as well. It isn't just about showing up for sessions for either one of us; it is about how you show up: motivated and willing to work toward the goal that you have set. I will listen to you, help focus you, encourage and support you. That is something you can only get from me in real time. While a self-help book can definitely help you think around some issues, it is not a replacement for personal life coaching.
